Historic Centre of Arequipq, Peru.
In the year 2000 at the beginning of the new millennium, Arequipa was named World Heritage Capital.
The historic centre was built in volcanic sillar rock, its building represents an integration of European & Native buildings, Built by masters of the Colonial era as well Indians masons.
2015 Arequipa will be the center for The OWHC (Organization of World Heritage Cities) convention.
Today the city celebrated the beginning of the busy year ahead. Native dancers parade thru the city wearing colorful native cloths, I took a burst of photos. Enjoy them much as I did been at the event.
